River Run 2011

September 8th, 9th & 10th the Bengtson Boys on a pair of Baggers and Jb Espie on the "Arm Stretcher Softtail" took off on a 3 day trip down the Great River Road along the Mississippi River. The weather couldn't have been better. 80's everyday, no wind and NO RAIN! Dad (Ron) & I started from Eau Claire and rode over to Stillwater and started our way south along the river. We met up with Jb in Red Wing, MN had lunch and then logged some saddle time from there. Words and pictures cannot explain how gorgeous of a trip this is BUT here are a few pics...Overlook outside of Praire Du Chien. We made camp in town for the night. Aka The Never Ending Train Hotel...

This is one of many overlooks that we passed. The view was just incredible! Friday we spent most of the day in Iowa. One word sums up that state. Corn, and tons of it! Jeesh did we see alot of corn fields... Beautiful country side tho. We did our darnest to take only country roads the whole way to Anamosa Iowa to the Bike Museum. (Actually it was so country at one point we were on a gravel road..... ps, Jb was on lead....) Museum had every bike you can imagine in there..

Evel Knievel 1 & 2 pictured here with Easyrider bike...

This was a town just south of LaCrosse somewhere. Think it was about the size of Whittlesey. As you can see this was not the warmest of mornings! Dad & I didn't seem to mind having full farings BUT ol' stretch looked a little chilly!
Mississippi in the backround....
Action shot! Oh, and it warmed up again! This will for sure have to be an annual trip! Thanks for the fun ride guys!

3 Days, Over 900 miles, 2 budget hotels & a new love of pizza....
